Tuxedo Question?

I'm getting married in October of 2007. I'm starting to look at tuxedo's, but was wondering if I should have my fiancee accompany me. I trust her judgement and she's good with color schemes. In addition, my groomsmen live in different states than me. I know they can get measured at a tuxedo shop and email me the measurements, but how will I know if the tux fits them well with no alterations necessary. I don't want them to come up two days before the wedding and have to get their pants redone. What does everyone recommend?
