Husband wants to work out financial problems?

My husband decided in March to separate -- I was left to support 3 kids and all the pets and all the bills (plus his $5000 debt) on my own. I allowed him 2 mnths to get on his feet --afterwards he turned ugly and resentful. He leaves a vm saying he'd rather go to jail the pay child support -- which my kids heard. He's lied about working and not working -- he's only paid a small amt for kids -- and now nothing. So I said -- leave everything up to the courts. I confronted him on why he's not paying child support -- but has a cell phone and is getting a car -- he yells over the phone "i don't have a job you dumb axxx'. Now he's singing a different tune -- wanting me to tell him pay to pay the loans or child support -- but he can't do both. I believed he would pay the loans -- and he didn't .. I gave him 2 months to get on his feet -- and he bailed on me. Do I give him a 3rd chance? Or should I just leave it to the courts?
