Questions about Cerebral Palsy?

My cousin just found out her 2 yr old daughter has cerebral palsy. Can anyone share with me some positive words to share with her? I realize there are different degrees of the disorder, but already her doctors said she'll need a breathing tube, as she's not gaining any weight (she's 2 & weighs 19 lbs), and they will need to cut and stretch her hamstrings. Please, any info from anyone that knows about this disorder, what would you find helpful in hearing, after learning this news?
