What are four major turing points in Europe during the World War Two and four turning points For US?
(1) The Battle of Britain. (2) The Battle of Kursk (the biggest tank battle ever, in the history of warfare). BTW, the Russians won WW2: the British, and Americans played a lesser role, and had only a small fraction of the casualties sustained by the Russians. (3) The cracking of the German "enigma machine" electronic code, at Bletchley Park, in the UK, and the creation of the world's first computer. (4) Churchill's refusal to warn the Americans about Pearl Harbour, (having broken the German naval code) because he knew it would bring them into the war. ~~~ (1) Although the Americans received early warning about the approach of Japanese aeroplanes, they chose to believe that it was a misidentification, and didn't issue the call to battle stations. (2) Their development of advanced sonar, and other anti-submarine weapons, to protect the convoys of troops, weapons, and supplies to Great Britain, and Russia. (3) The sea battles of Midway, and the Coral sea, in which Japanese naval supremacy was ended. (4) The development and use of the first 2 atomic bombs, on Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, forever changing the nature of warfare.
